Creative Networking Event Ideas

If you are a regular networker you may just be getting a little bored with the same old same old so why not spice things up a little if you are in a position to do so with these fun ideas to connect with people.

Wrong Name Tags

Start by giving the attendees the wrong name badges and then ask them to find the person with their name. When they have found the correct person they should answer three questions to get the name tag back.  This really assists connecting those who can find networking difficult and is a lot of fun even if you are a seasoned pro at networking.

Toilet Roll Tiles

Create groups and give each group a toilet roll then ask each person to tear off a few pieces of toilet paper and hold onto it, without explaining the reason. Then ask everyone to count the number of squares they have and that number indicates the number of things that they need to share about themselves. e.g. if someone has taken 4 pieces of toilet paper then they should share 4 facts about themselves.

Five of Anything

Use any number for this fun activity that quickly allows participants to share interests. Start by dividing people into small groups of about 4 or 5. Pick a topic – make the interests relevant to your session or let your participants learn more about each other. Then they have to share 5 of their favourites or least favourites of that topic.

Pick Somewhere Different

If you want your attendees to remember your event, you should pick somewhere different from the norm! It’s all too easy to pick somewhere sensible for the functionality, but going for style can make it a day to remember. Put some time in and location scout somewhere special for your next networking event if you want to add that extra flare.
