Women’s Business Club Acquires Girl Tribe Gang

Women’s Business Club, the business support network for women that launched in Cheltenham 2013, has today announced the acquisition of Girl Tribe Gang for an undisclosed sum. Providing a range of mentoring, meetups and masterminding, the now fully national network continues to connect, support and empower both employed and self-employed women.

Girl Tribe Gang founder and CEO, Catherine Asta Labbett, says in a statement released today, “It is with a heavy heart that I have today sold Girl Tribe Gang – a business I created to tackle the loneliness and isolation I experienced when I first set up in private practice as a psychotherapist. But the truth is that my compassion to make a difference to the 5,000+ women who have been along to one of our 450+ meetups since we started in 2017 has consumed me, in every aspect of my life. And the ironic thing is that I created this community because I felt lonely and isolated in a business I loved, but I’ve found that being the sole director of a business has ultimately made me feel lonelier than ever. I thrive on creativity and people and the sheer size and scale of what I have created has meant I’ve had little opportunity to immerse myself into those things.”

The acquisition of Girl Tribe Gang supports Women’s Business Club’s plans for growth with a vision to become the UK largest support network for businesswomen so that no businesswoman needs to travel more than thirty-five minutes to access a physical meetup. Although social networking is a highly effective business connection tool the Women’s Business Club is dedicated to meeting in person and building genuine authentic business relationships and thriving local and national business communities.

Angela De Souza, the founder and CEO of Women’s Business Club responded by saying, “Catherine has started something incredible with Girl Tribe Gang and I am keen to continue running the race that she has begun. We have invited Marie Harris from GTG to join our team as CDO and are really excited to be working with her on taking this community to the next level.”

The timing of the announcement also coincides with the launch of Women’s Business Club’s new website for their annual Women’s Business Conference. While both Women’s Business Club and Girl Tribe Gang will continue to trade under their own names for the next few months, branding will align with Women’s Business Club with an immediate effect to highlight and emphasise complementary and supporting services across the two businesses.
