No matter where your office is or what type of business you run, you need to do what you can to keep your office a safe place to be. As much protection as you can give your staff and your office premises is everything you need to ensure that you are not going to get robbed! Losses can cost your business in more than profits, though. Your staff feel unsafe in their workspace and your hard-earned budget is no longer relevant because you didn’t protect anything. Your insurance goes up – the list is endless when the office security is impacted.

Offices are full of valuables and you want to keep hold of those, which is why you need to ensure that your space is as protected as possible, from the access control system working correctly to reinforced doors and glass that won’t break. Safety should be a huge priority for you if you are paying for an office, but here are the ways that you can ensure that your business is secure!

  • Alarms. A monitored alarm system along with your access control will help your staff – and you – to feel secure. You can rest assured that if you are the last one out of the office, you can leave the building and know that no one is going to get into it again. An alarm is a deterrent for thieves, and often all you need is the sign for it. Make sure that you don’t just fake out a sign, though, and you actually pay for an alarm system that works. You can get one you can control from your phone, too, so it’ll alert you if you are out of the office.
  • Call The Locksmith. You need to ensure that your office locks are the proper standard for the country in which you reside. Locks are an obvious way to prevent people from getting into the property, and it’s so important that yours conform with your country’s standards. The locksmith can come in and test your locks properly to make sure that they are adequate. Locking your office is a no-brainer, but testing them could slip your mind. Don’t let that happen if you can avoid it!
  • Light It Up. Your outdoor lighting needs to be motion sensitive where possible, so that you can ensure that your cameras pick up any intruders trying to get into the building. Burglars are often deterred when flood lights come on and leave them nowhere to hide. Getting your lighting sorted going into the building will help you, too. Motion-sensor lighting will light each corridor as you move through it, which adds to feeling safe, too
  • Cameras. Lastly, you really need to have an active camera system in your business to ensure that you are able to actually see people coming in and out of the business. These should extend to your parking areas and the perimeter of the building as much as possible, so that you are completely covered!
